Breidden Bother!

We had a very eventful night in all the wrong ways! First the tyres. Definitely a huge disadvantage given the amount of mud and tracks we had to negotiate over the course of the night. This also cost us two punctures which slowed us in competitive sections significantly and ended up having to change the wheel in a competitive section. We also completely lost the clutch for most of the second half so that every time we stopped at a SGW, PC or time control we had to effectively perform a jump start which was difficult when there was no-one to give a push! As a result of all the drama we ended up about as close to otl as you could get. But we got a finish unlike many others.

The route was great and reminiscent to other Breidden's that I have done, but really could have done with some make-up opportunities in both halves (other than petrol). Especially with the relaxed time to the minute sections where you arrived 2 or 3 minutes early - what's wrong with the 3/4 rule in standard sections? It would help in 2 ways. 1) stop crews retiring due to OTL and 2) allow some extra time for car maintenance as the risk of going OTL is reduced.

Anyway, great driving as usual by Milo, despite our problems. Need to get ready for Mull now - The ultimate road rally!
