The ANWCC stage championship has now ended. With 8 rounds to count, I only managed to get out on 7 rounds of the championship, but this was enough to finish 4th overall in my first full year of stage rallying.
The highlight of the championship was to accompany Paul Griffiths on the Coracle Stages in his Mk 2 Historic Escort - what a fantastic experience on the sweet forest tracks of Sweet Lamb! We managed to win the Historic class by over 3 minutes, finish 7th overall and and we also took the award for highest placed mixed crew!
My other most memorable drive was with Geoff Bell on the Woodpecker stages in his Mk2 Escort (there is becoming a bit of an Escort theme here!). Rallying for the fun of rallying with one of the nicest blokes you could meet.
Huge thanks to Mark Turner who I sat with for three rounds (also as part of the BRC Challenge).
Had a fantastic year in the forest - more Escorts please next year!
