In addition to online collaboration within smaller groups, Project-wide conferences are organized annually to keep ourselves and the Project as a whole on track.
We are delighted to announce that the 12th Workshop for the AGORA Project will be held online on 08 August 2024 (Thu, PDT).
This year, the AGORA Collaboration held its first successful regional mini-workshop (May 7-10) at Seoul National University (SNU), Korea, and identified topics and leaders for the next batch of AGORA papers. Partly for this reason, this year we will not follow the long tradition of holding a 2-day AGORA workshop immediately after the annual Santa Cruz Galaxy Workshop. Instead, the Collaboration will hold an extended online workshop on the ongoing sub-projects on 08 August 2024.
● In order to accommodate our participants from across the globe, we plan a 3-hour telecon on August 8 at 16:00-19:00 PDT (that's 19:00-22:00 EDT, and on August 9 01:00-04:00 CEST, 08:00-11:00 JST/KST). We will have collaboration-wide live discussion sessions on ongoing/future projects. The Zoom meeting information will be distributed to all AGORA Collaboration members.
● The detailed discussion agenda/meeting note will be available in our latest Collaboration progress report (membership required). What follows is a tentative program of the Workshop, to be changed per needs of the participants. Please feel free to send any suggestion about the program to the Project Coordinator. □ We will have a Collaboration-wide brainstorming session on the present and future of AGORA, to best utilize the science comparison opportunities that opened up with the "CosmoRun". We will also decide on the projects (and their leaderships) we can newly launch, or relaunch. This will be a great chance for new participants in particular — you are welcome to submit a short elevator pitch as a video clip, or talk to the Project Coordinator.
□ We will also have more technical discussions on the next batch of three AGORA Papers (Papers VII, VIII, IX), primarily with the existing members already deep in the Project. Many of the Paper Group leaders and code leaders will join us. The latest Collaboration progress report on the ongoing Papers could be useful for the session participants (membership required).
□ If you wish to join the meeting in person on the UC Santa Cruz campus, please talk to the Project Coordinator. Other than the Collaboration-wide discussion, we do not plan to have any talks during our live sessions.
□ 08/08 (Thu) - 16:00PM - 19:00PM (PDT) via Zoom
