In an effort to increase security at our school. Your class is being tasked with deciding where to place peepholes that are fitted with a fisheye lens so that we are able to view visitors outside of our classroom to ensure that we want to open the door for them or view the person's identification badge. In this project you will work with your group to decide the location of the peephole, the implementation for installing the peepholes including the appropriate protocol for entering a classroom, and finally installing the peepholes.
Task 1: "Put the peephole where my eyes can see"
What are things to consider?
What should the appropriate height of the peephole be? Why did you choose that height?
What research did you do to help in your decision making?
Create a slide to answer each of these questions, complete with your rationale
Task 2: Measuring
What units will you use to measure the door? US or SI? Why?
What is the width of the door?
What is the height of the door?
How will you mark the center of the peephole?
Create a slide to explain where you will place the peephole and how you will mark it. Complete with the rationale.
Task 3: Making the Mark
Create a schedule that you will follow to work in marking up all of the doors?
Write a protocol for how you will mark the doors while causing minimal disruption to other classes? i.e. What can teachers expect of your teams behavior as you enter their classroom?
Write a procedure that anyone could follow so that they too can measure the doors appropriately. i.e. Step by step on what to do and how. Including some pictures or a video to instruct them may be helpful.
Create a screencast explaining:
What you will be doing?
Why you are doing it?
What teachers can expect out of you to minimize disruptions?
Create a separate instructional video on how to measure and mark the doors. This is similar to question three.
Task 4: Submitting & Installing
Organize the information from Tasks 1-3 and submit your project as either a Screencast or presentation of your work. Be sure to your explanations are clear and coherent so that any student can pick read through your project and be able to perform the tasks necessary to installing the peephole. You should consult with other groups, then your teacher for feedback.
After your project is approved. Go through the checklist of items that you went through while creating the project and make sure you and your team have everything you need to install the peephole.
Let the installations begin! Have fun, be safe, and responsible.
