Piano
The Piano one class is for beginning piano students. The Piano class is open to all SMHS students wanting to learn to play piano or improve their current piano skills. Students will:
learn to read music and play entry level piano music using proper piano playing technique.
work at their own pace and receive group and 1 on 1 instruction every class period.
be graded on the use of practice time and weekly lessons.This class is limited to 15 students per block due to equipment limitations.
Piano Semester 1 Exam
Students will play two exercises they have worked on during the semester for the Semester Exam. Their Semester Exam grade will be the average of the two scores received from the two exercises. The student will select one of the two exercises. The teacher will select the second of the two exercises based on how difficult the student selection is: the more difficult the student piece the less difficult the teacher selection and vise versa.
