Report of an experience during the Chi Kung class:
During the exercise Punching With Eyes Wide Open, in the stage where one allows the energy to flow, I experienced an overwhelming sensation, one I had not experienced before with such intensity. At first I felt my mind quite light of thoughts and quite blank, followed by a rippling sensation through the body, like small waves of energy rising up through the body. This was followed by one large wave of energy that threw my head back and then forward and my whole body was covered in goosebumps. What an amazing sensation. Pity it only lasted a few seconds. Perhaps with practice I can get to feel it for minutes. Thank you for your teachings.

What is Chi Kung
“Chi Kung” means “the Art of Working with the Vital Breath.” The Vital Breath cultivated in Chi Kung practice is that described in various ancient texts — that which circulates within us and moves us beyond our physical body; it does not derive from the body but nourishes it and gives it strength.
Through this practice we work on several planes of the human being — physical, mental, emotional and energetic — without needing to worry about it, since the practice requires no physical, mental or other effort.
Chi Kung practice teaches exercises from the Chinese tradition, some of them dating from eras before the Christian era. Their purpose is to gather the Vital Breath from the Cosmos and set it flowing within us, allowing greater resistance to fatigue, stress and illness, and a better daily disposition to enjoy day-to-day life, as well as to recover from already established problems.
What We Will Do
• Reach the Chi Kung Mental State. This allows us to enter a state similar to meditation, but in a very simple way, standing up. We will be able to relax physically, mentally and emotionally.
• Learn several very simple and effective exercises. The exercises are very simple, so that anyone, regardless of age or physical condition, can practise them.
• Achieve an Energy Flow. Once the practitioner is completely relaxed, they can, through practice, set the Vital Breath flowing within them. The body may then be felt moving gently, without forcing it.
• Standing Meditation. This is the simplest way to meditate — there is no need to sit in difficult or complicated positions.
What We Should Expect to Gain
General relaxation, more vital breath, a better mood, a more focused mind; it promotes creativity, quick and effective problem-solving, and an overall improvement in health.
Class Programme
Classes are held one Saturday morning per month. We will begin with basic, safe techniques that anyone can practise daily without any difficulty and with complete safety. For best results, students should do a 15-minute daily practice, so as to gain new skills from month to month.
The practice will be devoted first to perfecting form, then to energetic unblocking, and finally to developing mental capacities and emotional control. By the end we will be able to correctly use all the exercises and know at which energy levels we are qualified to perform them. The exercises taught will be the 18 Hands of Lo Han, with others added according to the group's progress.
Once all the desired skills have been achieved, we may move on to advanced Chi Kung techniques, that is, the “internal strength” exercises. These are regularly used by martial arts practitioners and, besides the benefits described above, develop resistance to fatigue, mental focus, determination and the ability to steer daily life.
Finally, there are the highest-level techniques, which promote not only physical, emotional and mental health but also spiritual fulfilment. These are abdominal breathing, tantien breathing, reverse breathing and micro-circulation, considered the most advanced exercise in the practice of martial arts.

CHI KUNG
“Chi Kung” means “Art to work Energy”. With this practice we will be working on various planes of the Human being, physical, mental, emotional and energetic, without having to worry about it, as the practice does not require any kind of physical, mental or other effort.
In the practice of Chi Kung, exercises from the Chinese tradition are taught, some of them from previous eras to the Christian era. They aim to capture Energy from the Cosmos, and make it circulate within us and thus allow greater resistance to tiredness, stress, illnesses and a better daily disposition to enjoy the day-to-day as well as recover from already existing problems. settled down.
