Outbounds
Welcome to District 6490's Outbound Program. This is where you will start your 3 year experience with Rotary, and typically see and do things very few have the chance to experience.
The very first thing you need to do is contact your local Rotary club. With them, you will work with the YEO (Youth Exchange Officer) of that club to start your process.
1) Obtain a Club-Level Application from your local YEO, who will represent your Sponsoring club.
2) Be Interviewed by your Sponsoring Club.
3) After your YEO sends in the results of your Interview, you will be sent a link to start your "District Application"
The District Application is typically available starting in Mid-September, and will be due by Mid October. It consists of a number of parts:
a) On-line Main Application
b) Supplementary Paper Forms. These forms are in a fillable PDF file, and you will fill them out, and then print 3 copies. These 3 copies then need original signatures (of your physician, dentist, etc. depending on form).
You will also need a newly issued Birth Certificate (requested in September or October of the year of application)
c) Online Country selection Form
d) Online School Referral Form
Your YEO will help you with the application process.

Important Dates
District Interviews: The first main date you should keep set aside is the First Saturday of November. This is when the District Interviews will take place
Outbound Interview: The second main date is the 4th Saturday of February, when you will have your Outbound Interview
District Conference: Typically, the first Saturday in May is the District Conference, but in 2016, it is the last weekend in April.
CSRYE Conference:The Weekend after the 4th of July is the big conference in Grand Rapids, with over 500 Exchange Students.
