2-8-0 TYPE CONSOLIDATION

The Rutland owned 21 Consolidation type locomotives. Three were old engines scrapped in 1934 but the other 18 that were built 1907-1913 were relatively modern and all but one lasted until the late 1940s or early 1950s.

G-14 CLASS - Numbers 10-12 were built by Schenectady in 1897.

Number 10 was still carrying the New York Central Number 2401 when photographed.

G-34-b CLASS - Numbers 14-17 were built by Schenectady in 1910.

Number 14 is at the Rutland Shops on September 25, 1949.
