A ruin on the Blind King's Hill in the Big Rubble
I started writing these stories for my own amusement. I loved the idea that there was a world going on around the characters which they would drift in and out of, sometimes without even knowing. It's very obvious that I completely ripped the style of writing from Oliver Dickinson's Griselda stories, although I am much less subtle in my use of language. Hopefully it's true that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, because it's some of the most entertaining fiction I've ever read and I love it. Since he makes no secret of the fact that he cadged the style from Damon Runyon, then I feel a little less guilt, and consider myself merely entering wholeheartedly into the postmodern cycle of life which denies any possibility of originality since all the good ideas have already been used up. When I find the time, I'll certainly be writing more stuff, since in terms of campaign history this does not cover much, but I hope it's a little amusing even for those players who don't yet have characters mentioned in these alternative stories...
