Uber is not available in Japan. However, cab stands are available at major stations such as Kyoto Station. It takes about 20 minutes from Kyoto Station to the conference venue, and the fare is about 2,000 yen. You can also ask for cab dispatch at the reception desk of hotels. Also, it is easy to find a cab in downtown Kyoto. When you see a cab marked "空車" or "vacant," raise your hand.
Accommodations
Kyoto, a tourist city, has many hotels. The closest accommodation to the venue is the Shirankaikan Annex. It is located across the street from the venue. There are also hotels near Kyoto Station and in downtown areas such as Shijo (四条) and Sanjo (三条). Please refer to the list of typical hotels in the area for their location and star.
Restaurants
There are many restaurants and cafes around the conference venue and in the city center area. Some of them will accept cash only, so we recommend that you bring some cash.
Airline Tickets and Hotel Arrangements
If you wish, you can ask the following travel agent to arrange your flight and accommodation. Please indicate in your email that you will be attending the Risk, Uncertainty, and Decision Conference at the Institute of Economic Research, Kyoto University, on June 23-25, 2023.
