Vigilance

Established in March 1968 under Commissioner Cole as a monthly force newsletter to replace the RP&NGC Newsletter and named 'Vigilance' as in the Commissioner's words 'This is a trait which should be possessed by every member of the Constabulary'. Vigilance was also the code word used in radio communications to identify the Commissioner. The magazine regularly features articles relating to current operations as well as biographies, awards, retirements and other articles of interest. To date issues have been found for a variety of dates between 1968 and 1970 the year in which it is believed to have ceased publication. The magazines were copied from various sources by Jamie Loveday and while all care has been taken there may be some scans which are less than ideal, however all information has been retained and the magazines preserved as PDF files for ease of use. They have now been sorted into years for ease of finding. Please be aware that some files are quite large and may take some time to download on a slow connection. The links are in bold below.
