Imperial Honours awarded to Officers and Civilian Staff of the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary and its forebears

The following list of Imperial Honours awarded to Officers and Civilian Staff of the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary (RPNGC) and its forebears was compiled from information extracted from the London Gazette by Jamie Loveday and is current up to the Queen’s Birthday Honours for 2014.

The list represents only those who were actually members of one of the Constabularies at the time of the award and not for example ex members or members who were granted awards prior to joining. This is particularly relevant for some awards during the Second World War were many ex members served with the Papuan Infantry Battalion (PIB), New Guinea Infantry Battalion (NGIB) and Allied Intelligence Bureau (AIB) and who were granted awards.

The utmost care has been taken in order that no person is missed but no guarantees can be made owing to the fact that in some cases no reference is made in the gazette to their being members of the RPNGC. In addition there are some entries contained in this list which are confirmed in Constabulary Lists and which are known to have been awarded but for which no London Gazette entry can be located. Rank and post nominal information is as per the Gazette entry. If you wish to provide any additional information please contact the author via policelegacy@hotmail.com.
