Clay is an amazing sculptural media, in that it can 'become anything'.... except maybe transparent! If properly constructed and finished, it can look like metal, leather, fabric, or even clay. These works were created for fun. "Lamp" was constructed to act as a holder for a slip-cast light bulb, which incongruously has a screw head on its surface. The small building sculpture is made from press molds; a technique learned from Maryland artist Rich Lipscher.
