used to
We use 'used to' for things that happened regularly in the past but no longer happen.
- I used to drink a glass of Cola-Cao a day but I stopped two years ago.
- Joana used to travel a lot but now, since the crisis, she doesn't.
- I used to take the bus to school but now I ride my bike.
We also use it for something that was true but no longer is.
- They didn't use to like me but now they do.
- My mum used to have long hair but she's had it all cut off.
- There used to be more cinemas in Palma but now there aren't.
