Osteogenic Sacoma Cancer Survivor Fe Mendiola - 22 Years in Remission

Ms. Fe Mendiola, a nurse by profession, was 42 years old in 1988 when I operated on her osteogenic sarcoma in the upper gingiva in her mouth. There was a local recurrence about 2 years after. In 1990, she underwent a right maxillectomy in the United States. In 2008, she developed a cervical cancer and underwent surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy. I saw her on March 1, 2012. There was no evidence of recurrence on her osteogenic sarcoma and on her cervical cancer. She is now 65 years old, with 22 years in remission for the sarcoma (after the second operation) and 4 years, for her cervical cancer. We both thank God for this long remission, particularly, on her osteogenic sarcoma.
