We are offering a Half Marathon option as well as the usual 20 miles again in 2025.
Both Courses: Flat country lanes
We are listening - the overwhelming majority of our runners want us to reduce waste and be kinder to the environment. So this year.... No free t-shirt + No free medal. In previous years we have had many t-shirts and medals left over. We have lowered the price again this year and those that want a t-shirt and/or medal can pay the extra to get one.
Collect t-shirts on the day before or after the event. Medals handed out at finish to those that have purchased (specially marked up bib number).
Permit/License - we will have a UKA/WA license - so times will appear on PoT and Run Britain.
Chip Timing - live results available at the event - viewable inside on large TV and and on-line with smart phone.
Entry limit: 600. Both routes are the same price and finish in the same place.
The ability to transfer your entry to another will close on Thursday 20th March (midday) - so that we can organise the data for the results system. Your number is also colour coded for the distance you are running.
Entry fee: (reduced due to no free t-shirt or medal). Both distances: £18 affiliated, £20 unaffiliated (plus £6 for t-shirt if you wish one and £3 for a medal)
Enter at Fabian4 here.
You can transfer from one distance to another free of charge online (or from one person to another) - go to Fabian4 and then 'amend entry/class' . The transfer window closes Thursday 20th March midday.
Easy access from the A38 and M5. Huge free car park. Ample toilets outside (and on the course). 6 drink stations on 20 mile course (3 on Half Marathon course).
There will be the usual free cakes and hot drinks after the event.
General information
You choose. 20 miles or Half Marathon (13.1 miles).
As well as giving you the opportunity to go for a PB on a fast flat 20 mile course, this event may be useful to many who are planning on competing in a spring marathon - it will give you a good indication of how well your training is going and what time you are likely to achieve on the big day.
This will be our 9th year and we are keeping the entry limit to 600 - car park space dictates this.
The 20 mile option is a two-lap flat course in lovely countryside close to the river Severn. See map below.
The Half Marathon takes in one lap of pretty much the same course.
There is a cut-off time for the 20 mile route of 4 hours. Anyone not making the start of the 2nd lap after 2 hours will be asked to head back to race HQ.
Access to the event HQ is on quiet roads and is only 6 miles from junction 14 of the M5. There is ample (hard standing) parking and the start of both courses are no more than 400m from the event HQ, where we will have ample toilet facilities. There will be no baggage drop this year - come ready to run from your car. .
On the 20 mile route there will be 6 water stations giving bottled water - three different locations on the route that you pass twice and then a further one at the end. On the Half Marathon route there will be 3 water stations and one at the end. None of the water points offer nutrition so you'll need to equip yourself with any gels etc. you may want on the course.
The 20 mile race has mile markers at every mile (yellow signs) and so does the Half Marathon (red signs).
Both courses have been officially measured.

How to find the event HQ
Half Marathon route descriptionThe start is near the roundabout right next to race HQ. We run back into the main car park to do a short loop then back past the start and from here onto Berkeley village. This then leads to the Salutation pub in Ham where it joins the 20 mile route - which follows the loop of a circuit around Bevington Deer Park on very flat and quiet country lanes. There are 3 drinks stations - toilet at each. After the loop you head back but at Ham cut back to the power station without going through Berkeley as you did when you came out. The finish is just outside race HQ. Water, cakes, medals, (purchased t-shirt) and hot drinks will be available outside.
20 Mile route description. The start is around 200m from the race HQ. We queue on the road and then head off towards Ham without going through Berkeley itself. Then follows two loops of a circuit around Bevington Deer Park on very flat and quiet country lanes. There are 3 drinks stations which you visit twice - so 6 opportunities to take water on the course. Toilet at each water station. After the two loops you head back via Ham, the way you came out and finish just outside race HQ. Water, (purchased t-shirt), cakes, medals and hot drinks will be available outside.
