September 2011

Dearly beloved in Christ,

Thank you for your fervent prayers that were rendered for Kochamma and me while we were on our short vacation. We could definitely feel the help and guidance of our Lord in every minute. We could do many important matters successfully. I could witness the sacred consecration of our new bishops:-

Rt. Rev. Dr. Mathews Mar Makarios

Rt. Rev. Gregorios Mar Stephanos and

Rt. Rev.Dr. Thomas Mar Tithos

I am sure most of you have watched or read the event by this time. Please pray that they may bear the torch of the Gospel all over the world based on the strong foundation of reformation for the mission of the Mar Thoma church.

During our vacation we could share the Word of God with many. Among the two Sundays, the first was spared and spent in Kottarakara Mar Thoma Church where we served some thirty years back. It was a blessed occasion to meet many old and new friends. The same secretary Mr P.J. David introduced me this time also being the present secretary, referring many good things we could accomplish in those days. It was a time of joyous fellowship.

The second Sunday was spent in my own home parish Thonniamala that raised me to this present position. In both places I was honored to celebrate the Holy Qurbana service and bring message. The Rev. Thomas P. Koshy and the Rev. P.J. Chacko had warmly welcomed me in their parishes.

While going to India one young man Ramesh was my fellow traveler he shared his life to me and I could share the Gospel and presented a copy of the Gospel which he gladly accepted. While returning, Praveen from India and Kallos from Bolivia were the young men specially touched with the Gospel and given Gospel copies. Please pray for them that they might become strong witnesses for Christ.

Why did I share these matters to you? If you wait on the Lord daily for the infilling of the Holy Spirit you can bring many to the feet of the Lord and thus be faithful and true in fulfilling the great commission-"Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel."

There are many in our minds who need our prayers: some are sick, weak and bereaved. Let us intercede for them with faith. May the Lord bless you one and all.

Rev. V. T. John
