2002

Event Summaries:

  • SCCA Kettle Morraine Double Regional - August 24-25, 2002

    • Road America

    • Great weekend! Perfect weather, lots of vistors, and close if sometimes wild & hairy racing. I started out very rusty (after 4 months off!), but ended up just .6 (yes, 6/10) sec off the track record. And there surely was enough slop in my driving that I should have had it by a good margin. Oh well, ain't that always the story? The pictures, courtesy of ELR&SS member Jim Bell and his trusty Olympus OM-1, are from Sunday qualifying.

  • First Event: SCCA Driver's School & Race - April 26-28, 2002

    • Blackhawk

    • Managed to get everything together except the video system. Drove out Friday for the evening classroom session. Up early Saturday for a wet and cold day on the track. Sunday was better; no rain, just cold and cloudy. Managed to stay intact, gridded 20, finished 21, and set a new track record. All in all an exhausting but satisfying weekend.

  • Prep for the Year

    • A lot of stuff to do: suit, shoes, applications, forms, etc. Also pre-buying any consumables/upgrades I can to get the car ready as soon as possible. Also acquiring equipment for the multi-camera in-car video system!
