1. How does NIST define virtualization?
Virtualization is the simulation of the software and/or hardware upon which other software runs.
2. What does NIST cite as advantages of full virtualization?
Operational efficiency
Desktop virtualization
3. What distinguishes the different forms of virtualization?
Computing architecture layer distinguishes the different forms of virtualization
4. What is the motivation for full virtualization?
Full virtualization allows computers to use more of their memory and processing resources while also running multiple applications. Moreover, older operating systems can run applications that would not work on modern operating systems.
5. Compare and contrast single vs multiserver virtualization
Single server virtualization is used only on a legacy OS, while multiple server virtualization saves money which is popular because less hardware equals less money spent, moreover multiple guest hosts can be used on the single host.
