There is broad consensus that U.S. foreign assistance needs to be reformed, but foreign aid reform must not be just a reshuffling of the cards. It must be a real reform process that fundamentally transforms foreign assistance to efficiently serve a clear purpose. As Congress will soon be rewriting the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961, this fall is a critical time for public discussion. The Forum brings together a panel of experts to discuss the current state of U.S. foreign aid and develop recommendations for the rewriting of the Foreign Assistance Act.
Mohammad Yunus Nobel Peace Prize Party - 12/10/2006
sponsored by Whole Foods Market and Whole Planet Foundation
"From that day in 1987 when RESULTS arranged for me to talk by conference call to editorial writers in dozens of US cities to the announcement of the Nobel Peace Prize in 2006, no other organization has done more to put Grameen Bank on the map than RESULTS and RESULTS Educational Fund's Microcredit Summit Campaign.
More importantly, no other organization has been as critical a partner in seeing to it that microcredit is used as a tool to eradicate poverty and empower women than RESULTS and RESULTS Educational Fund's Microcredit Summit Campaign."
