Many courses have mid-term exams and final exams. Some will be online exams while others will be in-person exams.

Pay any outstanding late penalty fees before writing in-person exams
Failure to schedule and attend an in-person exam will result in a mark of Zero.
Many courses have mid-term exams. Most will be online mid-term exams while others will bein-person mid-term exams. Check the information posted in your course. If you are not sure, contact your instructor.

If your Loyalist Courses Code is listed under How Do You Book Your Final In-Person Exam?you will need to book an exam. You can also verify exam information in your course and with your instructor.
If your course is not listed, you do not have an in-person exam. However, you may have an online exam. You can confirm this by checking the information posted in your course or by contacting your instructor.
In-person final exams at Loyalist College are written in the Pioneer Building only and will be held on the following dates:
All exams begin at the indicated start time, regardless of exam length.
Students using Loyalist testing facilities on dates other than the above will be charged a proctor fee.

Please complete the following process for each in-person exam you need to book. The exam registration process consists of three easy steps:
Locate and click your Loyalist Course Code in the "Book Your In-Person Exam Now" link below
Select the date on which you plan to write the in person exam
Complete the exam registration form and submit
Note:
Click on New Booking if this is the first time you have booked this in-person exam
Click on Reschedule if you are changing your exam writing date
An email confirmation will be sent to your supplied email address

You will receive an email from us confirming that you have booked an in-person exam. Your in-person exam date and time as well as the course title and code will be included in that email.
To ensure that you are able to book an exam on your preferred date, please book your exam early.
Please avoid booking any later than 2 weeks before the course end date. See Deadlines.
In-person exams are held at Loyalist College or at a Loyalist College approved location. See Making Alternate Arrangements.
All online course exams at Loyalist College will be held in the Pioneer Building. The room numbers will be posted on the entrance doors of the Pioneer Building on the day of your exam. You may also be required to pay parking fees.

Alternate Exam Dates
If you cannot attend and write your in-person exams on the specified exam dates contact us to see if alternate dates can be arranged. This may not always be possible due to deadlines. A nominal fee will apply for students taking exams at Loyalist College on alternative exam dates.

Proctored In-Person Exams
If you are unable to attend a college test center to write your exam you may hire an exam invigilator (proctor) to supervise your in-person exam. The proctor will need to be approved by Loyalist College. An acceptable proctor can be a teacher, principal, employer, police officer, librarian, public official, lawyer, minister, etc. and must not be of direct personal relationship to you.
Students requiring proctor approval should send in proctor forms no later than 3 weeks before the course end date.
To have your proctor approved to receive and supervise your exam:
Print the Proctor form
Fill out the student information portion
Have your proctor fill out the proctor information portion and attach their business card
You or your proctor must mail or fax the completed form by the exam booking deadline to: Karen McKeown.
Fees may also apply for some special arrangements made to accommodate students who are unable to write exams on specified exam days. Unpaid fees result in transcripts being withheld. See information in Making Alternate Arrangements.
Students may also be required to pay parking fees when attending Loyalist College to write in-person exams.
All student grades at now accessed through the Loyalist Banner system online. Visit Bannerfor information on how to access your grades. We no longer send student transcripts automatically.
Grades will take approximately 3 weeks to be processed after the course end date.
In the case of inclement weather, the cancellation of in-person exams for online courses will be announced on local radio stations. This message will be broadcasted as soon as a decision has been made.
The Belleville Transit Commission provides evening bus service on an hourly basis to and from Belleville and the college. Schedules are available at the Transit Commission Office or call 613-962-1925.

Exam Booklet - When directed by the proctor, turn over your exam booklet and:
Check you have the correct exam
Ensure you have the correct number of pages, as indicated on the cover page
Put your name on all pages of the exam booklet
If there are any omissions or errors, please bring it to the attention of the proctor immediately.
You may undo the exam if you wish; the proctor will re-staple them at the end of your allotted time.
Aides - Items such as calculators, textbooks, notebooks, computers and crib notes are not permitted for use during the test/exam unless indicated on the exam form. If crib notes are permitted, they will be returned to the instructor with the test/exam.
Academic Dishonesty - Students who are caught cheating will not be permitted to continue writing the test/exam. All materials will be confiscated and returned to the host college. It is your responsibility to ensure that you do not have anything in your possession during your test/exam other than those items specifically required for test/exam completion.
Breaks - Breaks are only permitted for use of the restroom and the proctor must be notified. You must leave your exam papers with the proctor, and many only leave the classroom for a reasonable amount of time. Breaks are not permitted for cigarettes, phone calls or any other reason.
Personal Belongings - All personal belongings must be left at the front of the exam room before testing begins. If you require something from your belongings after your test/exam has begun, you must ask the proctor for assistance.
Personal Electronics - Items including, but not limited to, cells phones, iPods, mp3 players, PDA's, etc are not permitted for use during the test/exam. Any item that rings, beeps, buzzes, vibrates or otherwise makes noise must be turned off and stored with your personal belongings before your test begins. If you use these items during your exam, the exam will be taken away and your will be asked to leave.
Start and End Times - Students who are scheduled to write a test/exam are required to arrive at their scheduled time. No student will be allowed to write past the scheduled end time of the exam.
Computer Use - When using a computer to complete a test, no software or website other than those listed on your test form and approved by your instructor may be used.
Disruptive Behaviour - Students creating enough noise to disrupt others will be asked to leave. Talking is not permitted in the exam room (with the exception of speaking with the invigilator). Please be respectful of other students and refrain from any noise that may be disrupt their concentration.
Seating - All student seating is at the invigilator's discretion.
Scratch Paper - If scratch paper/exam booklets are required, please ask the proctor to provide you with some (you may not use your own). All scratch paper/exam booklets must be turned in to the proctor at the end of your exam.
Completed Exams - Students will return all completed exams and materials to the front of desk before leaving the exam room.
Food and Drink - You may bring in a drink and a snack into the exam room, provided you consume the items quietly and without disrupting other students.
Illness - If you are feeling ill and unable to write your exam, please inform your proctor before starting your exam. Once you have started writing, the exam becomes official and must be completed within the allotted time period.
