CARL G. FOUGEROUSSE


Mr. Fougerousse earned his BA in Philosophy at Franciscan University of Steubenville in Ohio and his MFA (specializing in figurative painting) at the New York Academy of Art.

He is the founder of Red Fern Fine Arts Studio where he works on commissions as draftsman, painter, sculptor, building designer and craftsman in the design and manufacturing of works in stained glass and mosaic. Having Spent eight years in Italy had a deep influence on his sense of aesthetic and his interest in the history of Italian Renaissance and Baroque drawing and painting techniques and principles of composition, which have been at the center of his personal research and studio practice for several years.

In addition to his fine art practice, Fougerousse has taught drawing and painting at Savannah College of Art and Design, the Corcoran College of Art and Design in Washington, D.C., and art history atArmstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah, and Franciscan University of Steubenville's Austrian Campus in Gaming , Austria.

He has also lectured at New York University, Franciscan University of Steubenville, and New York’s Sheen Center for the Arts, and at conferences and parishes across the country.
