Aalayam Kappom is envisaged as a Federation that unites groups of Hindu Devotees who share the common objective to Save our Temples, their treasures, culture and traditions. It would serve as a common platform to stand fight together, transcending language, caste and political barriers, in their fight regain our right to worship and administer the Temples.

Aalayam Kappom will strive to reinforce faith in Hindu Dharma to prevent people from falling prey to religious conversions through enticement. Groups joining Aalayam Kappom can retain their local identity continue with their services.

Aalayam Kappom has done the following within a very short period of its existence :

• Filed cases against various irregularities in temple administration including appointment of priests against Agama, melting and monetization of ornaments from Temple treasures, starting colleges using temple funds, etc. and got favourable rulings.

• Cases have been filed in the Madras High court to stop appointment of trustees as the process followed by HRCE has major flaws. In one case the court has accepted our arguments and have given interim directives to make changes to the form.

• On 26th November Kanaka Kaleeswarar temple complex was illegally demolished by RDO using bulldozers in Killai near Sriperumpudur, Chennai, without any prior notice and showing no respect for the faith of Hindu villagers. Aalayam Kappom team provided on site support to mobilize devotee groups to stage protests against the high handedness of the govt officials. Guidance was provided on due process to file complaints at various levels to get remedy. Measures taken to spread the news through media.

• Sivanadiyars and local groups of devotees are being brought together with the objective to grow Aalayam Kappom from the present 1500 to 50,000 within next one year.

The blue print on strategy is under preparation and in due course, messages will be sent through WhatsApp to help members take up activities in their own temples, locality or town and as well activities to fullfil objectives of Aalayam Kappom.
