You can help Girl Scouts become their best selves. You can give Girl Scouts opportunities to have fun, meet friends, and make a difference in their communities and in the world. You’ll support them as they experience new adventures and learn new skills. You’ll watch their confidence soar. You’ll experience the joy of creating a more fair, equal, and compassionate world where everyone has a seat at the table.
There are many ways to share your time and talents with Girl Scouts. Most volunteers are associated with one troop as a leader, treasurer, cookie sale mentor, or chaperone. Troop volunteers engage regularly with their Girl Scouts and guide them through activities, like earning badges, exploring the outdoors, or running their own business through the Girl Scout Cookie Program. You can read more about each of these troop volunteer roles here.
Not sure a troop commitment is right for you? Let us know what your skills and interests are, and we'll find the right opportunity for you to support Reading Girl Scouts (for example: hosting a one-time workshop or planning our signature events).
Adults of any gender who register as Girl Scouts and pass a CORI/SORI check.
There’s no one “type” of volunteer, and you don’t need any special leadership training to get involved. Most volunteers are parents and caregivers, but we welcome anyone who wants to provide a safe space for kids to discover themselves, try new things, build each other up, and make unforgettable memories. Maybe you miss your own days as a Girl Scout or you've been looking for an opportunity to give back -- we need you!
