Every class will have a Compass Captain who will be responsible for all of the materials needed for Compass. This role will change every 9 weeks.
Every class will have a Compass Captain who will be responsible for all of the materials needed for Compass. This role will change every 9 weeks.
In order to be considered for the position, you must:
- Be responsible
- Be organized
- Be trustworthy
- Be able to communicate effectively with your Compass teacher
- Be passing all of your classes (or actively working to bring grades up to passing)
- Maintain good discipline records
The Compass Captain's Jobs
The Compass Captain's Jobs
- Distribute books and materials at the beginning of class
- Collect all materials at the end of class
- Ensure materials are put away in a neat and organized fashion
- Check books in and out of the Compass Library
- Alert the teacher when materials are running low (at least a day before running out completely)
- Collect and submit any entries for the Compass website (book reviews, exemplar art representing a book, etc.)
- Provide class reminders about any upcoming Compass events or contests
