This is the net to try stuff, to see what works and what doesn’t. How it starts may not be how it ends up and that’s going to be the fun of doing it. Here is how the simplex net works:
Band: 6 meters.
Mode: FM
Frequency: 52.510mhz - This is just off the national 6m FM calling frequency of 52.525mhz.
Polarization: Vertical - Horizontal is usable with some distance limitation in FM mode
Time: The simplex net will be held on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month @7p.
Format - Round Table
The net control will call CQ the Rockwall Amateur Radio Club Simplex Net to start the net and take check-ins and acknowledge them. The net control will then discuss a something of interest to them and then turn it over to a checked in station. The next station should leave time to allow others to check in. The responding stations should acknowledge new check ins and can continue the topic net control started or start a new topic. That station will pass it to the next stations and so on until it comes back to net control who can then continue the topic or start a new one and then pass it on. It is important that when a station decides to leave then net, they should wait their turn then check out after handing it over to the next person. Each time the baton comes around to the net control they can make the decision based on the number of people remaining and the flow of the conversation whether to continue or close the net.
Before closing out the net will decide who’s going to be control the next time. It’ll be the next net control's responsibility to send out a reminders, change of schedule or frequency, etc.
