Winter Field Day for 2026 is Saturday and Sunday January 24 and 25. The Rockwall Amateur Radio Club will be holding its Winter Field Day event again this year at:

We will be in Red Bird Hall (see map below) which has power, heat, restrooms, and plenty of space and trees outside for antenna deployment. Cabins and shelters are available to rent from Wind Point Park.

Note: Starting last year the WFD sponsors extended WFD from 24 hours to 30 hours. Please note the times below.

• Setup is from 8am - 10am Saturday morning.

• Winter Field Day officially kicks off at 10am (1600utc) on Saturday and ends at 3:59pm (21:59utc) on Sunday.

• We will be operating under the club call sign K5RKW.

• Tell the staff at the front office you are with the Rockwall Amateur Radio Club and they will wave your entrance fee.

• Talk-in: We will be monitoring the K5RKW repeater @145.27mhz, pl tone 136.5 and 146.52mhz simplex for talk-in.

• Food and drink is what you bring.

Remember with General and Extra licensed hams present, this is a great opportunity for Technician licensed hams and not yet licensed hams to be to come and operate HF phone and digital as well as check out and operate the different radios and antennas club members bring for this event.
