Senior Research Scientist, GNS Healthcare, Cambridge, MA, USA (July 2017-Present)

Staff Bioinformatics Scientist, The Rothberg Institute for Childhood Diseases, Guilford, CT, USA and Visiting Scientist, Yale University Cancer Center, New Haven, CT  USA (October 2015 to June 2017)
  •  Led the bioinformatics & statistical analyses of omics data from NGS: whole exome, targeted Seq, RNASeq
  •  Stratified cancers based on mutational landscapes, tumor microenvironment, transcriptome: linking to clinical data
  •  Developed novel quality control (QC) metrics for NGS data
  •  Implemented bioinformatics pipelines/apps and deploying in both local and cloud environments
Research Scientist, Department of Biomedical Engineering & Center for Biological Systems Engineering, Washington University in St. Louis, Saint Louis, MO, USA (January 2015 to September 2015)
  • Used combination of de novo sequence design and statistical modeling of in vitro and ex vivo data to uncover functional mechanisms underlying roles of protein's structural disorder in signaling and transcriptional networks.
Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Department of Biomedical Engineering & Center for Biological Systems Engineering, Washington University in St. Louis, Saint Louis, MO, USA (October 2009 to December 2014)
Advisor: Professor Rohit V. Pappu
  • Performed high-throughput molecular simulations, data analysis and leveraged polymer physics theories to unmask sequence-structure relationships of proteins that do not fold
  • Leveraged discovered rules underlying sequence-disorder relationships for classification of unstructured/disordered proteins
  • Uncovered the rules that modulate intrinsic helicity of transcription factors and designed novel transcription factors
Graduate Research Assistant, Department of Chemistry, Rice University, Houston, TX, USA (2005-2009)
Advisor: Professor Anatoly B. Kolomeisky
  • Developed novel stochastic models to investigate microscopic mechanisms of motor protein’s biological transport
  • Developed a coarse grain model to understand the mechanism of cognate site search by transcription factors
Masters Research Assistant, Department of Chemistry, Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India (2004-2005)
  • Developed of an optical fiber based novel refractive index sensor
Summer Research Intern, Theory & Computational Division, National Chemical Laboratory, Pune, India (2004)
  • Applied density descriptor based theories (DFT) for comparative analysis of different hydrogen halides reactivities and stabilities
