RF Power Meter

The purpose for this RF Power Meter, is measure RF power level (W), VSWR, and, low RF level ( dBm 50 Ω ) from 3 to 30 MHz.

The power meter module, was projected to measure power from 10 mW to 1.5 kW with automatic change of scale ( autoranging ).

The operator do not need to change sensor, or anything to measure power ( direct or reverse )!

The VSWR is autoranging too, measuring from 1:1 to 10:1 with auditive alarm at end of scale.

The dBm module is intended to measure low level signal, from - 75 to +15dBm, the noise floor for this meter is -80dBm.

The microcontoller used was the PIC16F882, with built in internal 10 bit AD converter.

The scale for all measurement was expanded to 3 significant digits!

Measuring error is about 5%, useful for all amateur application!

The logarithmic amplifier converter / RF detector used, was the AD8307.

New version with external 12 AD converter (MCP3202) is under project.
