Module SMPS HV 90 - 420V

This SMPS can be powered with low voltage, from 5 VDC to 15 VDC, and the output in range from 90V to 420V.

This module of the SMPS can be used as power supply, for battery powered portable subminiature tube radios and amplifiers.

Is great to use with subminiature tubes, CK 5072, 5744, 5718, 6112, and other devices who need high DC voltage.

Great too, for guitar pedal booster, effect ampliflier with tubes 12AX7, 12AU7, 12AT7, with DC IN from 5 VDC to 15 VDC.

With this SMPS you can power up 4 triode or 2 tubes, like the 12AX7( 1.5 mA per triode ), with total bias current of 6 mA @ 300V!

In all case above, important note is, DC and AC filters must be improved, to reduce present noises at output!

Another fact, informed before, the RF energy is irradiated as magnetic field and electric, shielded assembly could be necessary!

ATTENTION!

Before apply the power, turn the trimpot totaly counterclockwise.

Do not operate with no load and above 420V!

The output voltage with no load increase drastically!

This cause overload and damage the Power MOSFET!

The Power MOSFET is operating without heatsink!

Please, see the table below, about test performance.

Important Information!

Like in all Switch Mode Power Supply, high frequency are present at output, and may be irradiated as radio frequency too!

It may too, cause interference in others electronics equipment!

Please, see in the pictures, for the details of the "snubber" circuit, to reduce RF transient ringing, irradiated energy, and protect the Power MOSFET.

Characteristics:

Input + 5 Vdc to +15 Vdc maximum! 0.4A Max. ( Be sure, do not power overload - SEE TABLE! ).

Workable Output Voltage: + 92 Vdc to +420 Vdc ( Please see table below).

Power Output Max.: ( Please see table below )

Working frequency: 45KHz +/- 15kHz ( varies in function of the load, input and output voltage ).

No audible noise.

TABLE FOR OPERATION CONDITION.

Attention to operate condition!

The Power MOSFET is operating without heatsink!

Do not overload input current, 400mA Max. in all condition!

Do not overvoltage output, 420V Max.!

Be sure to use 5W resistive load to do test!

This power supply is an source of dangerous high voltage!

Be sure to avoids contact with the terminals of the output voltage!

Always disconnect the input power before handling.

You must wait the electrolytic capacitors discharge.
