Echo Speckle Imaging (ESI)

Based on the double-cell multi-speckle measurement approach in SCM group in Fribourg we have developed an echo speckle imaging (ESI) method. The tehnique is designed to monitor the dynamics of the sample. In comparison with other imaging techniques with coherent light like laser speckle imaging (LSI) and laser Doppler imaging (LDI) ESI can be used for the non-ergodic samples. Since any slow evolving sample can be considered as a non-ergodic on the typical time scale of measurements ESI is beneficial for an imaging of wide variety of systems.

Method allows to image the dynamics in the sample with the frame rate of 2 Hz. Conventional imaging can be performed in parallel with the same equipment.
