Evan Storms - The project was to build an outdoor stage for Pennsylania's Tyler State Park's education center. I also installed a 12,000 pound dry-bed to manage water flow. I was able to recruit support from 4 separate Boy Scout Troops. Project completed August of 2019.
Ryan Stuart - Demolished and rebuilt 2 Junior Tee-Ball dugouts for Jax Beach Baseball Association. Project included the re-framing, wall construction, roll roofing, painting, and building new benches inside for seating. This created a safe place for young players to get their start with baseball. Project completed August of 2019.
Jace Lim - Jace's project was building and installing six bird houses for Bird Island Park located in Ponte Vedra Beach. Project was completed August 14, 2019.
Tre Peterson - Tre built 6 dog houses for Animal Care and Protective Services located in Jacksonville. He picked this organization because of his love for animals, especially dogs. Project was completed June 2019.
Ashton Monk - Ashton's Project was making directional signs for Camp I Am Special which is a camp for adults and children with special needs. They spend a week away at camp and their buddies (Ashton is a buddy) make sure they have an awesome time doing what their camper wants to do - swinging, pool time, singing, talent show, etc. The camp is very difficult to find and Ashton's sign will help the camp find the camp! Completed June 6, 2019.
Will Mann - We built two sets of six cubbies that were mounted in the preschool at Palms Presbyterian Church. We also sanded down and refinished six teak benches in the columbarium at the church. Completed: 4/28/19
2018
Jack Rowan - When I decided to make dog beds for the Humane Society, I started with a prototype that was meant to be used to look for improvements. We found a lot. For one, at first we used screws to hold the canvas, but we soon learned that this tore, so we moved to creating slots where the pipes could be run through and create a sturdier structure for the animals. I then set about seeking donations of materials for the beds. Companies from Home Depot to the local outdoor furniture company helped out tremendously and was able to get me across the finish line. By this point, assembly became the easiest part. A medium-sized group of scouts and their families met at the church with me and we assembled the beds in just more than an hour, which was a breathtaking pace. Upon delivery to the Humane Society, the beds were put to use in both their facility and for foster homes. Overall, this project was a great success and seemed to have helped a lot of dogs!
Hunter Wray - "I made 5 picnic tables for the Saint Augustine Humane Society. It was for outside their facility because there was no previous seating for people waiting to pick up their pets. Project took 120 hours and it was completed on 11/10/18 "
William Hamm - "Project Dog Houses" Built 8 dog houses for Animal Care and Protective Services to donate to families in need so they can meet city code of providing shelter for their dogs. The dog houses enable the families to keep their pets which keeps the dogs from being taken into the animal shelter. Project was completed on October 14, 2018.
David Minor - "My Eagle Project was re-landscaping around the lion statue at Landrum Middle School. I spent about 25 hours doing it. It was finished on 3/25/2018."
