Routine: 4–6 weeks
Expedited: 2–3 weeks
Urgent: Must make an appointment and have international travel within 14 calendar days
Use the fee calculator found on travel.state.gov to determine the passport fees.
Must be taken at most 6 months prior.
No shadows, discoloration, filters, or anything that could obscure or make the face less visible or identifiable.

Generally, photos can be taken at pharmacies, shipping centers, post offices, retail stores, and professional photography studios.
If applying in person, use primary evidence if available: an undamaged passport or a U.S. birth certificate.
If no primary evidence is available, use secondary evidence: delayed birth certificate, a letter of no record, or early public/private records/documents.
Note: Electronic birth certificates will not count.
Required when applying in person if over 18 or a parent/guardian applying with a child.
Must be a physical document, include your photo, and be issued by the government.

Type the country you’re traveling to under “Select a destination:” and click “Go.”
