Boston Mass FD - all radios are tuned to Ch1, and are changed to other channels only when told to do so by a dispatcher
Menphis Tennessee FD - maybe all radios are remotely controlled by the CAD system
New York City FD - all portables are set on Channel 1 - rarely are they changed - sometimes a Command Channel is used for very big fires - maybe sometimes the Subway channels are used
Las Vegas Nevada - each Battalion has a separate dispatch channel
San Francisco Calif - apparently all portables are set on either the FG1 channel or the Area 1,2,3 channels
Los Angeles Calif FD - apparently all portables are set to the Dispatch channels - and go to the Tac or Ops channels as needed
Houston Texas FD - apparently all portables are set to the Response channels (1 of 3) - radios are switched to tac channels in big fires or crashes
Toronto Canada FD - apparently the county is divided into 4 zones - each zone has its own dispatch channel and tac channels
Chicago Illinois FD - apparently all portables are set on the FG channel (154.295 ?) - except for officers and Chiefs who have their portables set to the Dispatch channels (154.13R & 153.77R)(went to UHF in 2013)
London UK FD - portables are on UHF - mobiles are on 80 Mhz (mobiles went to 380 Mhz in ?2012)
Germany FDs - portables are on 170 Mhz - mobiles are on 80 Mhz or 380 Mhz
