Hey parents and guardians. As of May 13, 2020, here is our general plan for the remainder of the school year:
- Weekly projects, due on Fridays. Each project is part of a path your student has chosen to follow, learning curriculum from Code.org, Unity 3D, creating a team game project, or a tailored assignment.
- Daily meetings. That's 2:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. These will be over Zoom. Students will receive some instruction, but this is mainly a time to ask questions and receive guidance. Attendance will be taken at these meetings. If your student works and cannot make it, let me know.
- Grades. Final policy as of April 27. Note that a 'D' or 'F' letter grade will be converted to 'Incomplete.'
- Attendance. Any two-way communication during a week, with the student or parent, is considered as attending. This includes phone, text, email, and Zoom. A request for an assignment, followed by the teacher receiving that assignment, is a two-way communication, for example.
- See how your student is doing online. Using Synergy ParentVUE, it is possible to see my teacher gradebook. I encourage you to ask about your student's progress. I have the Synergy code for you, and I can be reached via email at chris.cornuelle@highlineschools.org, as well as pssc.digipen@gmail.com and ccornuelle@digipen.edu.
- Tech needs. Online learning means online access. Please let me know whether your student gets to the internet with Windows PC, smart phone, something else, or no access at all. Highline Public Schools and DigiPen may have resources for this, so be sure to contact me.
