- Outside of school, here is some advice:
- I can't make it today. How do I write an absence note?
- If you miss class, you need to convert that absence into an excused absence. That's the good kind.
- Your teacher collects these and gives them to the PSSC attendance person.
- While PSSC does not grade on attendance, getting five (5) or more unexcused absences leads to bad stuff - just don't go there ...
- Most of your grade depends on projects, and you need to be in class to do most of that.
- So you write a note, get your parent/guardian/overlord to sign it, and get it to PSSC.
- A phone call or email to the office will also be fine.
- Here is what the note needs to be like:
- Legible - that means someone else can read it
- Your name
- Something like "DigiPen Programming" or similar
- Date(s) you were not in class
- Date you turned in the note
- May not be more than two (2) days after your utter failure to show up
- So, um, why did you miss class?
- Name and signature of that responsible adult - you know the one
- Please use the supplied form for this if possible
- A photo of Bigfoot actually carrying you off would be helpful
