These portfolios helped students get jobs IRL
Over the course of the school year, students will either create or update a digital Portfolio. This is all the stuff they
would want to have available when applying for jobs. Unusually, this is a non-paper Portfolio, meaning that it can be
made available online, carried on a flash drive, phone, or other portable electronic device. Essentially, these are all
documents and resources you would bundle together IRL in order to find employment.
In May, the Portfolio is graded in two ways. One grade is based on the usual academic assessment procedure, i.e.
are the components present and of quality. The other "grade" is that this Portfolio is used when the instructor
interviews every student for the position of Teaching Assistant for the Summer Workshop - a real interview, a real job.
Guiding this will be several documents, including an evaluation sheet and a rubric.
