Welcome Preceptors and Clinical Affiliates
Thank you for serving as a role model and resource for students as they pursue a career in Sleep Medicine! Clinical education can not be replaced by the content covered in a classroom. It is the real-life application of the content learned which turns students into professionals. Thank you for your contribution to our students career development!
For Preceptors:
Working with students as a preceptor is not merely watching them work. Learn about the preceptor roles, responsibilities, as well as some tips and tricks to having a successful clinical rotation by working through the preceptor training link above.
Below are the clinical competencies which we would like you to complete for the student at your facility. Ideally these would be completed after week 4 in clinical. Passing these are a requirement for graduation.
Home Sleep Testing (not required)
We would also like the preceptor to complete an Affective (behavior) evaluation. Ideally one would be completed after week 4 of clinical and another at the end of week 8. This is not needed to graduate, but will help the student know how they can improve their professional behaviors.
