Project ASD

Preparing Special Educators and Speech-Language Practitioners in Autism Spectrum Disorders

Welcome to Project ASD!

Project ASD, at the University of Central Florida, is a grant funded through 2029 by the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs. Since 2004, this innovative personnel preparation project has been addressing the critical need for special educators prepared to serve the increasing numbers of children identified with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Project ASD has supported over 600 scholars in earning Master's Degrees and full certification in Exceptional Student Education, and State Endorsement in Autism. The success of the project can be attributed to ongoing collaboration between university faculty, school district personnel, agencies, and families. With its most recent funding, Project ASD has extended financial and academic support to individuals who are seeking Master's Degrees in either Exceptional Student Education or Communication Sciences and Disorders that incorporate UCF's Graduate Certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorders.
