Week 01 - UEN Tools and Social Media

Intro

This week focuses on all l the resources available from the Utah Education Network and the State office of Education. Using these tools helps you stay focused on resources that are already aligned with State Guidelines, Standards and the Utah Core curriculum. State tax dollars provide these resources and it is valuable to use them to support what you are doing.

Resources and Tutorials

We are going to learn all about the tools available from UEN: The Utah Education Network.

We are going to learn about all of them but focus on 4

• 1. my.uen - free state approved, state sanctioned web publishing

  2. www.activities - free state provided Web Activity Tool

  3. Lesson Plan - State provided lesson plan tool that articulates with the State Core Curriculum and Common Core Standards

  4. Rubric Tool - Prefabricated and modifiable Rubrics that articulate with the Lesson Plan Tool

Assignment

Tasks:

• 1. Create a my.uen login

  2. Update at least your contact information on your my.uen page

  3. Create a 'Welcome to Class' Lesson Plan (in class)

  4. Complete the UEN Scavenger Hunt
