I am Deputy Division Chief in the Research Department of the International Monetary Fund, CEPR Research Fellow in the International Macroeconomics and Finance programme, Associate Fellow at SAIS Europe, and member of the Money & Finance Research (MoFiR). I have been Assistant Professor at the Universita' Politecnica delle Marche and Associate Professor of Economics at the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). My research focuses on financial intermediation, banking, development finance, and sovereign debt. I am associate editor of the IMF Economic Review, Economia (LACEA) and the Journal of Financial Stability.
