Dance to the Music of the Night

I dance to the music of the night.

The rain finds a drum on the bare ground.

It beats timidly at first,

Then a wild rhythm that I feel in my wrists

And the soles of my feet.

Harder and faster my feet punish the earth,

As the night howls.

When the lightning slices the black

In a frenzy I laugh,

And scream at the thunder,

Whirling and stomping faster and harder.

As deep as the night I am,

As wild as the storm.
