The Inter-Academy (Inter-Ac) League follows all NFHS rules with the following league modifications:
Yellow Carded Player - The carded player may return to the game at the team's next substitute opportunity (no 5 minute sit out rule)
Substitution Rules:
The rules are the same except for injury. If the injured player is substituted, the opposing team may sub one player (one for one)
No substitutions on corner kicks (Updated on 9/9/22)
Regular season Overtime
2 - 5 minute halves (fully played - no golden goal).
Postseason Overtime:
2 - 5 minute halves. If the game is still tied, kicks from the mark (penalty kicks).
Official Time
Official time will be kept on the field clock
If the field clock is not present or working, the official time will be kept by the center referee.
Note: The officials should review the clock stoppage signal with the clock operator. Any issues with the official game time will be resolved by the center referee.
PreGame
Visiting teams are prohibited from bringing or playing music at opposing Inter-AC venues. This became effective August 1, 2021
Game Reports
Game reports must be completed in Arbiter. They must include any yellow, red cards and serious injuries.
Contest Duration
Varsity Matches - 2 - 40 minute halves
JV Matches - 2 - 35 minute halves (No overtime for tied matches)
All other levels - 2 - 30 minute halves (No overtime for tied matches)
Referee Uniforms
NISOA. Officials should not wear PIAA jerseys (stripe jerseys or pro styles with PIAA patch).
All referees must match jersey color and style including socks.
Officials should wear all black socks.
Note: A combination of short sleeve and long sleeve is acceptable.
Officials Pre-Match
For varsity matches - the center referee must contact their ARs at least 24 hours before the match to coordination what jerseys and socks should be worn.
For JV and Freshman matches - communicate with your partner what uniform options are available at least 24 hours before your game.

Communication Systems
For varsity matches - if one member of the officiating crew has a communication system for all 3 officials, they are encouraged to wear them.

Issues During the Game
If you have a serious issue during a game, please reach out to Chris Kelly @ 267-688-1553 . It is extremely important to give Chris a head up and be prepared for any calls from school administrators.
