The SADC-DFRC was the organiser of a four day workshop in Project Management (PM) which was held in December 2013 in Maseru, Lesotho (sometimes referred to as the Mountain Kingdom of Africa). "The workshop was attended by over 20 delegates drawn from three countries in the SADC region, and kindly hosted bythe Basotho Enterprises Development Corporation (BEDCO) who provided not only the venue but also the opportunity to visit a project site in Maseru. The SADC-DFRC has a number of Development Finance Institutions (DFI) in their network, and this was not the first time that Dr Tobin of PTC has been asked to develop and deliver workshops meeting the needs of the DFI member organisations. "Dr Tobin has proved to be a consistently valuable member of the team of SADC-DFRC facilitators. His knowledge and skills in the area of Project Management are complemented by his ability to engage with his delegates in a stimulating and energetic way, which enhances the overall learning experience," says Dr Herrick Mpuku, Programmes Manager at the SADC-DFRC. "PTC and the SADC-DFRC have a strong relationship dating back several years" comments Dr Tobin,"and this workshop is just the latest example of how to share knowledge across the SADC region". The workshop used the latest world-class framework from the Project Management Institute (PMI) as the basis for learning, and delegates developed their skills through a number of practical exercises in the ten PM Knowledge Areas identified by the PMI.
