During a practical demonstration of information security assessment tools at a recent Corporate Governance Conference (organised by Advantage Training), Dr Peter Tobin demonstrated the comprehensive POPI Compliance Assessment Tool (POPI-CAT) which has been jointly developed with PTC partner IACT-Africa. "While Dr Peter was running the demonstration I had time to watch the audience reaction and listen to the discussion that followed, and it was clear that the POPI Act and similar legislation in other African countries, either in plan or in place, is causing Board members and Senior Executives to re-prioritise their efforts in information security" says John Cato.
