PTC participates in High Speed Data Fibre Access Trial

PTC offices, located in Houghton Estate, Johannesburg, South Africa, will soon be connected for a three month trial period to a new super-fast fibre-based service offered by Telkom. "The residents and businesses of Houghton are very fortunate to be among the first in South Africa to take part in this trial, which offers a connection speed of up to 100 megabits/second and the supply of 200 gibabits of data for the duration of the trial" says Dr Tobin. Until now the old infrastructure in the Houghton area has proved unreliable and slow (4mb/sec being the maximum possible speed). "We will be monitoring the trial period with interest" adds Dr Tobin.
