Dr Peter Tobin of PTC has been invited to present a four day workshop on Project Management to be held in Maseru, Lesotho, in partnership with the Southern African Development Community (SADC) - Development Finance Resource Centre (DFRC) based in Botswana. "This continuing partnership with the SADC DFRC dates back to 2009. So far the workshops have been held in both Botswana and South Africa, so the move to Lesotho marks a further geographic extension across the SADC region, fulfilling the mandate of the SADC DFRC to support their network members wherever the need exists" says Dr Tobin. The SADC-DFRC Mission is “To provide capacity building, policy research and advisory services in development finance to SADC development finance institutions and Governments - thereby contributing to SADC’s goals of economic growth and sustainable development.” (Source www.sadc-dfrc.org ).
Previous workshops facilitated by Dr Tobin have been funded either directly by the SADC DFRC or by one of their funding partners, such as the European Union. Topics have included both Project Management and Monitoring and Evaluation. In both cases international best practice frameworks have been used to underpin the design of the workshops. Delivery methods have included video-based case studies, site visits and delegate presentations. "These workshops represent a powerful opportunity to transfer and develop skills across the SADC region" says Dr Tobin.
