For several years Dr Peter Tobin, founder of PTC, has been collaborating with the Southern Africa Development Community Development Finance Resource Centre (SADC-DFRC) in bringing cutting-edge and innovative education and training to the members of the SADC-DFRC network. Most recently, in late 2014, a workshop on Monitoring and Evaluation was held in Windhoek, Namibia, as described in the SADC-DFRC newsletter (see page 6) available below as a download . The workshop was attended by 25 delegates from 8 institutions drawn from 5 countries across the region. "The continuing partnership with the SADC-DFRC is a sign of the enduring value which PTC adds to its clients" says Dr Tobin.
As stated in the newsletter: "This workshop provided an introduction to the essentials of Monitoring and Evaluation. This practical course was based on the publication “Ten Steps to a Results-Based Monitoring and Evaluation System (Kusek and Rist, published by the World Bank, 2004). A number of case studies were used to enhance the delegates learning opportunities. Delegates were given the opportunity to build their own examples of Monitoring and Evaluation using a practical spreadsheet based tool."
