In a joint venture between PTC and Ndawo Consulting, a three month online survey has recently been completed, which investigated nine aspects of managing knowledge. The survey was conducted as part of the work experience internship offered by Ndawo Consulting to David Solo, a masters student at North-West University. "The survey involved identifying over 250 possible participants, designing the survey, implementing the survey design using an online tool, and contacting possible participants to engage them in the survey" says David Solo, the intern responsible for running the survey, "and I learned a wide range of new skills which will help me not only with my continuing academic studies but also when I enter the job market"."This really was a team effort" says Dr Tobin of PTC, “as Margarida Ferraz, one of our PTC associates, and I spent many hours sharing our knowledge, skills and experience to help our intern achieve his goals working with a survey that was designed to provide an insight to its participants on the current status of key aspects of managing knowledge.”. A mark of the success of the survey is that of the 128 companies invited to take part in the survey, we received 25 valid responses, an outstanding result for this type of project." "David Solo has been a valuable member of my team for the past several months, and I am delighted our partnership with PTC has enabled David to benefit from the guidance which Peter and Margarida have provided" adds Markus Moses of Ndawo Consulting.
