With all the focus on the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPI Act) since it was signed into law last year, the launch of the "IACT-Africa POPI Act Compliance Health Check" tool is timed to meet growing market interest in all POPI-related matters. "The 20 questions focus on many of the key issues that impact on organisations that are covered in the POPI Act" says John Cato of IACT-Africa . The Compliance Health Check can form a useful "high level, first cut, quick and easy" POPI compliance assessment, which can then lead on to a more formal in-depth assessment of POPI Act compliance. "The more detailed assessment could include the use of our unique POPI Act Compliance Business Case Tool and other elements" says Dr Tobin, co-author of the assessment tool set.
